Frequently Asked Questions
What is the dress code on board?
During the day, smart-casual is acceptable. Jeans and trainers are discouraged. In the evening, the dining car enforces a strict formal dress code. Black tie is preferred, while a dark suit and tie are the minimum requirement for gentlemen.
Are children allowed on board?
Due to the adult-oriented nature of the journey, the dining environment, and historical carriage constraints, we do not recommend these journeys for children under 12. There are no dedicated children's facilities.
Is there Wi-Fi on the train?
To fully reclaim the romance of travel, Wi-Fi is deliberately omitted in the lounge and dining cars. Limited connectivity is available in your private suite, though it may be intermittent depending on the geographical terrain.
How does border crossing work?
Passports are collected by the Train Manager upon boarding. In most cases, our staff handles all customs and immigration formalities with border officials while you relax, without needing to wake you during night crossings.
Can dietary requirements be accommodated?
Yes. Our Executive Chefs can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and most allergy-based diets provided we are given at least 30 days notice prior to departure.
